About this deal
This lightweight fleece performs with purpose and is as light as possible, without compromising on the essential warmth you need on the move.
Not necessarily a huge amount to say here: the Allez Micro is a hooded quarter zip baselayer shirt, made from Polartec High Efficiency, a fabric which was one of the very best innovations of the past decade. All products are guaranteed against failure due to defective workmanship or materials, but this excludes faults caused by accidents, neglect or misuse. It’s designed to be very stretchy and close fitting, so will sit fine over a synthetic t-shirt, but expect to feel a little constricted if you wear your normal size over anything more.In our many years of selling samples, we have found that 99% of them are exactly the same as the finished production version. In this case, there is less wiggle room when it comes to a wind layer, but on something like a spring ski trip where one might have both hot afternoons and very cold mornings (or days), this arrangement might be the best way to cover as many conditions as possible without duplicate layers that can’t all be worn together (for instance, while sleeping). The Montane takes up almost half the space and weighs substantially (58g) less (on a large to large comparison). You get what you pay for, but I probably wouldn’t have bought these if I hadn’t been lucky enough to win them in a competition!
Later that year I bought a Capilene 4 long sleeved crew, and have used that since, when the weather gets reasonably chilly. If your item is under warranty, please contact us so that we can resolve the claim in the best and most timely manner.
The lightweight POLARTEC® Power Grid™ fabric delivers a superbly functional garment that can be worn either as a baselayer in colder conditions or a lightweight mid-layer. The THERMO GRID fleece fabric features a brushed grid back construction to manage moisture and to regulate heat effectively, and an under helmet hood offers added protection from the elements when you're out on the hill. Im 5ft 11 and 13st 2, slim build and the medium size has always been perfect for all of my other Montane tops (viper hoodie, t shirts, half zip tops) but this micro allez hoodie is incredibly small and tight sizing for a medium. A high collar and (deeper) zip like the Montane, a tight weave like the Odlo's front panel and a similar but less fluffy, brushed inner. What's missing of course are the insulated jackets I wore on top (the Quechua Down Gilet and the Keela Belay Smock).
