After the initial couple seconds of alcohol settles down, you get left with a very sweet, soft and cozy brown sugary vanilla scent. The scent is gorgeous (still not in love with the opening spray but it gets so much better), woody warm vanilla, I would agree that it's more of a fall-winter perfume. It sounded like it was going to be a fruity sugar bomb, but I tried it after looking up the notes and fell immediately in love after it sat on my skin a short while. Too expensive for such longevity issues, just go with the 7 Virtues one or Cologne Des Missions if you can find it for cheap. I agree that this does remind me of Cologne of the Missions Les Couvent des Minimes, but it's different enough that i could see owning both.

A little syrupy and the woodiness is not of the burnt wood type like you'd find in lancome oud bouquet. This is such a beautiful creamy, milky vanilla with a completely addictive musky/woodsy dry down and I absolutely am in love with Midnight Shimmer. It's a very clean vanilla to my nose, and it immediately reminded me of Vanilla Woods from 7 Virtues. Inspired by the Michael Kors Collection woman, the Midnight Shimmer Eau de Parfum reflects the elegance and mystery of the nighttime sky. This is an uncomplicated, sweet and slightly alcoholic 'vanilla extract' type of scent with some gentle woody notes and minor floral notes which help keep it fluffy and light rather than dark and boozy.But I highly recommend to those upset by it's discontinuance ( which is always inevitable of the best scents! It kind of adds a bit more depth to a vanilla fragrance, especially one that some might consider too sweet. Longevity is not good as much as i expected but it s okay, sillage is okay too, it doesnt come across as a skin perfume on me.

Initially it smells almost masculine with a deep musky woodsy aroma (could be a unisex perfume, actually), later it develops a sweet boozy vanilla quality that is almost addictive. Its very sweet, smells very gourmand so if you don't like this sort of a scent, you will be in sugary overload. Since then I started wishing I had bought Midnight Shimmer but it was by then really difficult to find.This is one pretty woody scent - slightly sweet from the vanilla, but that eventually wears off leaving those smokey wood notes going strong, lasting hours later. When I think smoky dark vanilla I think of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon or Alien Essence Absolue.
