About this deal
Please note that if you have taken the bike or frame out of its box, then it's really important you repack it carefully so that it comes back to us in the same condition in which we shipped it. Juin Tech advise using 160mm rotors, and I've been satisfied with the performance of the lightweight Ashima Ai2 rotors I'm running. The package includes a pair of brakes (pads included), 2 flat mount adapters, 2 160 mm discs + screws.
Unfortunately I’m in no position to answer if they are better than Trp Hy/Rd stopping wise and I’m fairly sure a full hydro system would be much much better but overall I’m happy with them. If you're hoping for stopping power that's comparable to the best hydraulic systems then we hate to break it to you, these aren't that. That's important as many full hydraulic systems can provide too much stopping power for low rider weights, using larger, more difficult shifters with hydraulic reservoirs.Hydraulic pistons are actuated by a normal brake cable - so you can keep your existing rim brake shifters.
I am okay with the performance on gravel but any sort of technical cross style riding gets very difficult quickly. Still crave full hydraulics, but these are pretty much the best setup I’ve found if you need/want to retain cable actuation. It sounds too good to be true – road disc brakes that are cable-actuated, but with hydraulic power, for an affordable sum. I’ve been using the Acor version for a good while now – having replaced some TRP Spyres that I thought were superb themselves; I just wanted a little more power when braking from the hoods. With your consent, reCAPTCHA, a Google service to avoid spam messages via contact forms, will be embedded.
