About this deal

All things considered, the Challenger K2 has paid for itself over nearly 10 years of ownership in spades as it still looks and performs like new. As always the styling has to be important and Intex’s use of color certainly helps this inflatable kayak stand out from the crowd. The Challenger K1 has a few disadvantages - a narrow cockpit, thin materials that make it susceptible to puncture, and its inability to constantly move in a fast and straight line chief among them.

However, if you want to join other kayakers on a kayak trip and they are paddling high quality inflatable kayaks or even fixed hull kayaks, you will not have any fun with Challenger K1. It’s good value and a great way to introduce yourself to kayaking to see if it’s something you like. Transport backpack: only a bag is included, which is intended for storage and short transport of the kayak to the water.

Intex kayaks look great and professional regarding design but at a closer look you notice big difference with inflatable kayaks from other manufacturers that cost much more.

Definitely recommend it to all who wish to have not only a bit of family fun in the water, but also last minute solo adventures down the river. Not to forget that the Intex Challenger K2 is supplied with all the necessary accessories (two double paddles and an air pump).Deflating is fast and easy by opening the valves allows the air to release quickly so you can roll it up and pack it away stress-free. They are made of thick inflatable material (thicker than a beach lilo for example), but less thick than some other inflatable kayaks on the market – but as I say, no problems as of yet. The person in the back needs several powerful paddle strokes to move the kayak in the desired direction. Intex has other inflatable kayaks, which could be interesting if you are looking for an entry-level inflatable. Besides, now we can load up the kayaks when we set out on a road trip and have ourselves some water-based adventures in cities around the country.

The paddle blades have a high flex (very flexible) so that powerful paddle strokes quickly become ineffective. The quality of the material looks and feels very strong and durable, especially when it comes to kids being rough with it. Good, robust quality product with good features, including net storage at the front, comfortable adjustable inflatable seat. We managed to paddle one of our favorite courses around a secluded bay we found the Challenger to take it in its stride. For children, the Challenger K1 is an extremely fun option with its worst-case scenario of tipping over extremely unlikely due to its stability. As for teardown, as you might expect, getting all the air out of the kayak isn’t as easily done as filling it up.
