The Broodlord and Genestealers are a solid core to build around, and helpful whether you’re building a full Tyranids army or just adding a Kraken Detachment of Genestealers to your Forces of the Hive Mind army.

Not only are they absolutely AMAZING on the battlefield (seriously, check out our article on the subject), but they’re commonly used to provide Vanguard strike forces with heavy fire support and spearhead assaults, so they’ll fit the Detachment’s theme perfectly! The Start Collecting box that gets our vote for “the next one to be discontinued,” there’s not a ton this particular box has to offer. Where you should start will depend on what legion you want to play and how competitive you want to go. Aggressors are a surprisingly good pick for Space Wolves, who really like using the Lone Wolf Stratagem on them when opponents can only wipe out 2/3 of the squad with their new profiles. The value of the individual boxes varies pretty wildly – both in terms of the savings on offer and in terms of the in-game points they represent.

But the upside is that you have some extremely rad models, some cool powers, and look – as the saying goes: “Evil will always win because good is lame. The combined abilities of their marksman bolt carbines and Siege Masters Warlord Trait will mean that for each hit roll of a 6, your Imperial Fists Infiltrators will score one automatic wound and an extra hit! The Ethereal on Hover Drone, Fire Warriors, and Drones all see tons of competitive use at high levels, and you can never have enough drones as T’au in the current rules. You’re going to need at least one Lord Discordant, a Master of Possession, 1-3 units of Cultists, several boxes of Chosen and Possessed, and likely 10 Terminators. likewise, the World Eaters are in transition to getting their own army at some point in the next year, and currently rules for the faction’s unique units can be found in White Dwarf 477. Word Bearers are known for cavorting with Daemons, and are great fits for running lots of Possessed.
