About this deal

This, coupled with points for crossing the Thames, as well as the need to connect multiple colors to a single station, all add a lot of fun tension for such a short experience. Working alongside The London Sound Survey, we collected field recordings from 55 stations across the London Underground network over the course of three months, adding in sounds from our respective archives.

This part’s fairly easy; here, you should look for the station with a color that matches your current pencil. The map is divided into thirteen districts, including cheeky single square districts in each corner. If you cannot reach a matching station from either end of your line, then you skip drawing that turn; you may also choose to skip drawing a line if you don’t like where it would go.Interchange station points (interchanges that connect different colors: 2 points per interchange connecting 2 lines, 5 points per interchange connecting 3 lines, 9 points per interchange connecting all 4 lines). Players draw a straight line from either end of their current line to a connected station that has the corresponding symbol. There is an awful lot of rulebooks included, great for different languages but they fill up half the box and do feel a little wasteful perhaps. At the end of the game, players score 10 points for each of these objectives whose criteria are met. As part of set up, the five shared objectives are shuffled and two are randomly drawn and placed face up in the play area.

So, I just inflict a negative 10 points for each scoring objective not achieved or for each pencil power used (if adding them into my game). Next Station: London is a flip-and-fill, map-making game for 1 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, and takes about 25 minutes to play. It's time to get to the drawing board with this game, as The City of London has commissioned you to redesign their underground network! Which is no small task bearing in mind all the simple sounding but impactful restrictions and general/advanced scoring objectives.

They’re pretty much across-the-board extremely helpful, but they’re helpful for everyone, so keep that in mind. It’s the interesting challenge of how starting with purple is very different than starting with green or blue or pink, so the player boards in the game tend to be pretty different, as well! We are a group of passionate individuals who share our love of board games through written and video reviews, articles, and humor, so that others can join us in our journey. Stations can be visited by multiple colors, but routes cannot cross over a line that’s already been established. It is quick to play, but with plenty to think about with the option to scale the difficulty to be inclusive to all.
