About this deal

The 99 Classic, unlike a number of other headphones/IEMs, is not a surgical scalpel intent on dissecting the music and cleaving it of heart and soul—via a bright or analytical tuning. The soundstage potential is take to its paroxysm with synths pads coming from each side of your head, kick and snare in the middle and voice above it in a transparent way, sound presentation being very holographic and dense with all details being push fowards to give extra dynamic to Neo lush presentation. The Meze 99 Classics is primarily for music (and movie) lovers, in our quite subjective opinion, as it gets to the heart of the music, but with a transparency that nicely defines the venue whether intimate jazz club, symphony, arena rock concert, etc. The box is pretty big with the image of the headphone printed on the front with the specs mentioned on the back. Lower end dig very deep, so you will have no difficulties hearing clearly sub bass line and it will be well separated from pumped up mid bass, this type of presentation make it as nicely enjoyable for cello centered classical music than synth bass plus digital kick in electronic, but here, better will be the mastering better will be the final result.

Comfort still isn’t perfect, the drivers protrude a little, just contacting my outer ear though I didn’t find this to be an issue unless I wore the headphones for days on end. This outstanding comfort begins with those swivelling earcups and absolutely fantastic earpads that are roomy even for those with large ears such as myself and stuffed with extremely plush memory foam. Though, as mentioned often across reviews and on the About Us and Modus Operandi tabs, AudioKey’s reviews cater to the music lover or those for whom music is transportive. The cables are Kevlar braided for longevity though they could still do with more strain relief near the jack. For the bulk of this review the Meze 99 Classics were partnered to the AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt, which proved to be an exceptional musical partnership. Despite the bass emphasis, mids as well as highs still have enough room to breathe and the audiophile demand does not come up short.

This way, we are helping the environment and we're giving the old trees a chance to shine one more time in the shape of Meze headphones. Feel free to check out the link below to check the current pricing and availability for this headphone.Their appealing combination of natural warmth and good insight, all-day comfort and classic looks make them an appetising option.

With 103 dB at 26 ohms, the 99 NEO plays extremely effectively and also without problems on the smartphone. Despite the odd break for hot ears, I found no fatigue from clamping pressure or the self-adjusting headband's compression. The 99 Neo differs in that regard, by employing a suspension system identical to that on the 99 Classics; it’s the type of basic convenience that makes a world of difference in daily use. The 99 Neo’s also have pretty great detail retrieval even if their more natural, darker sound favours smoothness over aggressive detail and clarity. There is some midrange spill though lower-mids are never overwhelmed by bass and remain quite clear considering the extent of the bass boost.

In truth, I love the entire album for its realness and beauty and its display of profound emotional connection and musicianship.
