About this deal

It is also worth knowing that the game is still supported and receives updates to keep it balanced and competitive. Robb the Young Wolf makes his unit much more mobile, while in Wolf Lord form he makes it much harder for the enemy to charge. Separate from the tactic board which is its own minigame of claiming and depriving the opponent each player also has a hand of context specific cards which can be played when the criteria for them have been met. Both the Lion and the Direwolf shall be sorely tested as fealty and fury meets cold steel and ruthlessness. The weak points: Assembled miniatures have a few downsides, at least for the most engaged amongst us.

The Lannisters are better placed to receive attacks and launch counterattacks, this does not however mean that they are boring to play, nor that they are an underdog by any sense of the word. Attachments are powerful individuals, sometimes generic, sometimes unique, which replace a standard unit mini in the unit's tray.

Greatjon's cards on the other hand allow units to hand out damage left and right, and even more so when they are wounded or perceived at a disadvantage. To bringing forth your faction's flavour and to enjoy an infinitely replayable game you will need to invest even more money, as well as have an opponent who is willing to do the same. Containing forces for both House Stark and House Lannister, you build your armies, select leaders, construct their Tactics Deck, and engage in one of five different Game Modes. Featuring House Stark and House Lannister, the Starter Set comes with over 100 amazing, preassembled miniatures that are ready to play out of the box! The fact that it has six different starter sets (and more than 60 expansions to support them) is rather telling.

As Attachments, the Lannisters field two Guard Captains and one Assault Veteran, all of which cost 1. Once you get the hang of your faction and start to understand its interactions, you will realize how brutally the game treats its combat units. Their customizability also suffers; four different designs per unit are cool, this however cannot easily compare to fully-blown armies where every single soldier is different. They are powerful in their own right and a combination of a unit being played into its strengths and a well-timed tactic card can sometimes be enough to completely wipe an opposing unit from the board and cinch the game. The Starks bring five units to the battle: two Sworn Swords (5 points each), the Outriders (7 points), the House Umber Berserkers (7 points), and Grey Wind, a (free) wolf that follows Robb Stark into battle.Examples include restoring wounds to a unit when you claim the points of an objective, enemy non-combatants losing their abilities while you control an objective, and forcing the opponent to draw one card less when filling up his hand. If, after this exercise, certain hits remain unblocked, the defender usually suffers one wound per hit. Those who enjoy waiting to exploit holes and weak spots which they themselves helped create might find the Lannisters more to their liking.
