About this deal

Despite its lightweight, it’s still 3 inches wider than your standard pad, including the Big Agnes Double Z or Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Trekker air mattresses. Laying on a cloud may seem like a luxury reserved for the Gods, but with Klymit Insulated Static V sleeping pad, even a basic backpacker looking for a budget pad can experience the comfort. Review Policy: We do not accept payments or gifts from brands and vendors, and strive to provide unbiased, independent advice. If you're on a budget and looking to squeeze every penny while still staying comfortable, the Static V2 is worth a look.

If you want something comfortable for summer and fall temperatures in the backcountry, this is the best sleeping pad for you. I've always been skeptical of the blow up pads because of the inherent thicker fabrics, extra bulk and heavier packable weight. Twist-Pull Valve: Secure and simple, it allows inflation in as few as 10 breaths and opens wide for rapid, complete deflation. The baffles on the side fill up more when you lay in the center, creating a sort of mini side wall that helps to keep you on the mat as you sleep (no one likes waking up on a cold tent floor). You can feel the cross in the pillow, but it didn’t seem to be a problem and possibly centralised my head better. In this review, I will discuss our experiences concerning comfort, stability, pressure points, and other features, like how long it takes to blow up the pad, and how easy it is to roll up. Another feature worth mentioning: the inside of the pad has an anti-microbial treatment applied to restrain the growth of microorganisms, fungus, and bacteria, another bonus to their design/material. inches thick, if that, and while they are stable and comfortable, the first thing I felt on the Insulated Static V was the extra inch of inflation. But the Klymit Insulated Static V’s design makes it so that with roughly 15 breaths it’s fully inflated. Measuring in at a downright vast 30-inch width, this pad offers you the freedom to toss and turn as much as you'd like without rolling off the pad.

There is no insulation inside, so for cooler trips this may be a bit cold for some, but for most summer trips it should be fine. This gave us an initial feeling that our sleep might be hampered by how thin this pad is relative to others. I was immediately taken by how much more comfortable this sleeping pad was compared to other ones I’ve used. Back in 2009, their first product to market was a revolutionary insulated vest filled not with down or synthetic fibres but with argon, an inert gas.

The pad is shaped in a way that reduces rolling off, I stayed on without having to be constantly aware of how I laid, unlike other pads I have used.
