The chunky octagonal profile and substantial weight gives this pen a presence in the hand, making it a real joy to hold. We use a state of the art laser engraving machine which gently etches away the top layer of the pen to reveal the base metal underneath. Established in 1883 by founders Luce and Ensslen, the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik (dip pen factory) began manufacturing dip pens. The Classic Sport range, introduced to market in 1934, broke new ground in modern design for its unique octagonal barrel and handy portable size intended for use by ‘ladies, officers and sportspeople’. The iconic Brass Sport series is hand assembled and formed from solid, untreated CNC-machined brass which ages and develops throughout time due to it's own unique patina.
