We use this Hi Gear Annex as a toilet and wash tent as we refurbish our ruined cottage on a west coast Scottish island and it has withstood substantial winds and rain to our amazement and delight! The Hi-Gear Annexe Utility Tent is a waterproof, flame-retardant and spaciously-designed extension to your basecamp. However, if you’re still on the fence and want to look at some more options, here are some great alternatives to consider. Con - we have used our tent a maximum of five times (but bought it over 12 months ago) and the top section of each fibreglass pole has completely shattered. In fact they probably fit in the final segment we mentioned above whereby they deliver a fantastic overall package.

The annex was fully guyed and pegged down but is just not fit for anything than being installed in zero wind. I took it back to go outdoors only to be told by the sales assistant that he knew it was a really bad design and that this was bound to happen. The hydrostatic head of 1,500mm makes this shelter fully waterproof and it has been tested to EN-5912 standards to be fully flame retardant.
