The soft material and careful design and construction gives maximum comfort and, in many dogs, creates a pronounced calming effect. The Halti No Pull harness works on the premise of 'squeezing and lifting' according to the team behind the product who say, "the harness tightens on the dog when they pull on the lead. This is comfortable for the dog to wear and ideally used with a double-ended lead to give maximum control.

An excellent safety first procedure is to attach a long lead (say 3-10 metres) to your dog’s collar or Halti.The problem I was having was that looking at the instructions and photo on the front of the box, you know the padded chest area goes at the front. It is positioned well down the dog’s nose giving maximum steerage and control for basic training and all other activities with your dog: from a quiet walk to leading an unruly or potentially dangerous dog past animals or people. We do not recommend leaving any type of body worn training aid on your dog for long periods of time and dogs should never be left unattended wearing products like headcollars, harnesses, and muzzles.
On top of this, for models manufactured in 2021 onwards, we have implemented a design change where the back connection strap can be secured with a purpose-made loop of fabric. By attaching your leash to the front chest strap of the Halti Harness you will gain more control over your dog. For running we recommend using a Halti Walking Harness as it provides complete freedom of movement for the dog. The responsive design of this headcollar is to give you more control over your dog and to help train your pet to walk alongside you without pulling.

The HALTI Harness comes in three sizes: small, medium and large and includes a comprehensive training guide. So if your dog pulls on his Halti, step to one side and turn him sideways, even in a complete circle. For an extra helping hand we recommend using the Halti Training Lead with your Halti Headcollar or Harness so that you have more control when walking your dog. However the front leading ring is awkward to get to when re-fixing the lead when dog has been running, either the ring could be larger or placed higher up as you have to virtually dig in the front pocket to get the clip of the lead on. Many puppies were injured with choke chains by using excessive force and harsh methods in those bad, pre-Halti days.Best used in conjunction with a double ended training lead such as the Mikki 7 in 1 lead or Halti Training Lead, linked to both the chest and shoulder rings of the harness.
