About this deal

I loved the love to hate relationship between them and the fact that they're used to be best friends is also a big positive. He DARES say he would do nothing to hurt her, and then proceeds to tell the whole school she was cheated on. Then one of his pals notices that the air is filled with hearts and butterflies and promptly asks Ryan "You nailed McKenzie, didn't you? I was so disgusted at how they acted towards Becca, with all the pushing her to be with Ryan and trying to make things happen despite she so obviously didn't want that.

I liked this book a lot the only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because Ryan was obviously in love with Becca but he was so mean to her sometimes. Between the premise of friends who turned away from each other, enemies to lovers, and high school angst, this is right up my alley. Secondly, Becca spent about 80% of the book completely infatuated with her boyfriend to the point where she was prepared to overlook his many shortcomings.

Becca had the same issue over and over again and no matter what happened, she wouldn't let go of it. He might have been pissed when she went off to a different college, but they make the long distance work because they're "Becca and Ryan", and nothing is going to break them.

He is there in class making a foul out of her and he's there when she talks to one of her best friends that is also his best friends. You need to treat people the way you want to be treated, and considering she treated everyone badly, it's no wonder the only person she worshiped would cheat on her. This is a great begin in the 2 book series and i think if you like the enemies to lover genre, you'll definitly will love this one! She doesn't care that their moms are close, and therefore, she hears more about him that she'd ever care to know. I am desperate to get my hands on Four Years Later, I NEED to know what happens with Ryan and Becca pronto! Hoke's dialogue is smart, funny, nuanced, and tense as she explores the fragility of female friendship. Two neighbours, who grew up as best friends, become enemies throughout highschool; even though the guy is desperately in love with her. She's a know it all, and more stubborn than a mule, so of course in her eyes she's right about everything. She is strong and harsh and badass at times, but Ryan just says please and looks at her and she loses her autonomy and does anything he wants. He's embarrassed and humiliated her at every opportunity to the point that she avoids him completely. Note: This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence. Becca might be the most dense character I have ever encountered so far – but I actually enjoyed reading about her. The plot was cute and entertaining and I kept routing for them and everytime Becca was with her a**hole boyfriend I wanted to scream at her.
