About this deal

Not only does she have to worry about ex-girlfriends but she has found out that vampires are coming to attack the school. If I'm being honest I jumped at the opportunity to read this book because this was one of my one-that-got-away series. Sure, we later found out it was at her parents request to give her "space", but all it did was add unnecessary drama to a very good action story. Pick up your copy today and begin a werewolf adventure with Tessa, Dastien, Meredith and the rest of the characters.

She really wanted to leave New York, claiming that her anxiety was actually excitement because of the new job. I won't change my rating for this book because it was what I felt at the time even though it doesn't represent how I feel about it today. While the number of pages was on the smaller side, the story lasted forever with excellent character development. While the love-story portion was a bit of a roller coaster ride at times for me, I do think it stayed true to Tessa's interesting new "condition" and to how most teenagers would react at that age.

Not only are there werewolves involved, even the mean girl werewolves that make high school such a wonderful place, but they have to go up against their mortal enemies - the vampires, and they are anything but nice. degrees Celsius for non-US peepz) fever that puts you in the fucking hospital suffering from excruciating pain and turns you into a werewolf, your first instinct should be to slap the living fuck out of him and yell "WHAT IN THE NAME OF SAINT MATTHEW'S HAIRY BALLS DID YOU DO TO ME, YOU HALFWITTED SON OF A MOTHERLESS TROLL", not think to yourself: My mind was stuck on one thing. She soon meets Dastien who takes a liking to Tessa and who Tessa can't seem to get out of her mind, at a party she agrees to go to so she can make friends she bumps into Dastien and the pair share a kiss that turns into a bite and scratch, leaving Tessa a werewolf.

I have a lot to read and more advanced copies than I can chew probably, but something about this book winked at me, batted its eyelashes and got me all flustered (I’m easy that way) so I requested and was approved (thanks again!Still there was something about the writing that kept me reading and despite the lackluster resolutions, there was good build up to the dramatic events and decent suspense.

I love reading YA/NA books and want to share those worthy of your time and warn you about those that aren't. Becoming Alpha is a great addition to the werewolf ranks – Erin’s world-building is excellent and her characters are big and bold, making for a wonderful read. Parts of the world building are intriguing such as the commonly used trope of shapeshifters wanting to be public but vampires are depicted as not only evil but unattractive and disagreeable. The problem is she has to wear gloves/cover her skin at all times because every time someone touches her she has visions/reads emotions and it really takes a toll. Even in the beginning when they talked about her being able to see visions she didn't like to touch people or objects, but at the same time it wasn't stewed upon and dragged out at all.She specializes in young-adult fantasy and has given voice to the internationally best-selling series Throne of Glass by Sarah J. I had other great friends in NY, such as Alice, Tira and Savannah, and they were all friends with him too. Tessa is honestly one of the main characters that I can actually get behind without completely losing all faith in her. The plot revolved around the heroine's uber magical different abilities that just quickly turned me off this. I soon realized that just reading a chapter or two every evening wasn’t going to be enough – I was completely drawn into the story, characters, and world building.
