About this deal

Is there a general consensus re 80s TV shows (depending on how they were shot) that either format is best suited for that particular decade's TV shows on DVD? Note that the foreign dubs actually have the original song left intact on DVD, so the swap makes no sense, legally wise. And hearing the Star Wars theme during the chase in "Funeral for a Doornail" really made me miss having the William Tell Overature in "Lady In The Iron Mask". Wired News comfirms the DVD release will have all music intact AND releases a preview of the Cover Art in an article titled " Copyrights Keep TV Shows off DVD.

Moonlighting would be off the air by the end of the next season, a victim of supreme audience indifference. The complete first and second seasons of the 1980s comedy drama series starring Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis. If they do, can they come out with a set without the DiPiesto/Viola episodes they had to use because production was slow? Yes, we all know that stardom went to Bruce Willis's head and that by the end of the run everyone was fighting with everyone, but series 1 and 2 are a joy to watch, when there was still chemistry between David and Maddy. David und Maddy sind ein ungleiches Gespann, die das Schicksal zusammengeführt hat gemeinsam eine Detektei zu betreiben und so darf man sich wirklich auf aberwitzige Wortgefechte freuen.

has a few turkeys in the batch, sometimes the jokes fall flat, sometimes if you're not a hard-core fan things don't make sense.

Even beyond the rapid dialog, (which was something you just didn't do back then) there was a lot about the show that was edgy. At the very end of the commentary, Shepard breaks down crying, and laments, among other things, not being able to work with Willis on a Moonlighting movie.

The reason that this show works as well as it does, is because you like both of the characters, and they are often both right when they argue. For what it's worth, I checked the new score through headphones and it's in mono, and tinny mono at that, so it sounds like it was added to the mix some years ago -- it definitely wasn't newly-added for the DVD. Small points that I found interesting: firstly Maddy only wears heels in the pilot - the rest of the time she wears flats (Bruce Willis is not a tall guy) and whenever there is running to be done, if you catch a peep below the ankles she's wearing running shoes.

I have noticed that some of the episodes on the region 1 discs are nearly two minutes longer than its region 2 counterparts. This was a guy's guy; the kind of cocky wiseass that young guys like to think they are, and who gets the girl not just because he's handsome, but because he makes them laugh, too -- even when they know it's all an act. This was another good commentary with a lot of anecdotes about creating the show, the difference between filming a sitcom and a show like Moonlighting, why the show was shot the way it was. I loved Moonlighting in the 80s, and bought this DVD with some trepidation in case it was dated and dull.
