A modern take on the Cinderella story, I'm Only A Stepmother, But My Daughter Is Just So Cute could be considered the alternative to Who Made Me A Princess in terms of the relationship between the daughter and the mother. Sabrien might be clueless when it comes to being a father, but Abigail's determined to strengthen his relationship with the princess-no matter how many awkward dinners she's subjecting herself to!I really enjoy her both as a mother like character and a romantic character to the king who obviously has some sort of unknown trauma towards women. It’s during this brief death that the Queen’s soul is swapped with that of our recently deceased protagonist, and she wakes up in her new world in Abigail’s coffin and – conveniently enough – with some of Abigail’s memories. This gives me a similar vibe as Abigail knows how the story will play out if she doesn’t play it, right and doesn’t wish to become the villainess, though some elements seem to be falling into place in the manner of the story. It's just another one of those "Romance cliches 101 for dummies, Explain Like I'm 5 edition" copy pasters.

The characters are interesting and I really enjoy that it touches on sensitive subjects such as underage marriage (in boys especially it's not talked about nearly enough, and this manhwa does beautifully only showing glimpses) It's a humorous story despite the heavy topics and I can't wait for the next season/book. What would normally be the classic Snow White now has the main character stuck as the Queen villainess.
