I”ve been having some starting trouble out of my truck lately, and it”s throwing a code 54.Searching around, the code 54 seems to point to the fuel pump relay. The problem is I don”t know where it is, and can”t seem to find a reliable answer anywhere. Can anyone help me out? There are 3 relays on the firewall just left of the air cleaner, but I”m not sure what they are to or how to get them off.

one is AC. one is brake-lights, i cant remember the other? fuel pump relay is in glove-box. one of the 2or3 big ones on left, dont matter which one it is, switch em-all around…

The wiring diagram indicates the Dark Green/white wire from the VCM goes to it. I can post the wiring diagram later if you need. On my 97 the center one in the glove box is the fuel pump. The ones on the firewall should slide upwards to remove.

On a 1991 S10 with 4.3L engine, the square plastic fuel pump relay and the A.C. relay is located on the driver”s side (LH) of the firewall behind the power brake booster. There are two identical relays at that location and the one on the passenger side (RH) is the fuel pump relay . They may or may not be in the same location on your 1994 S10 with 4.3L. To remove either one of those relays, you must unplug the harness from the bottom of the relay and lift upwards on the relay and pull it from the bracket.
Found the relays finally. They are located forward of the center console, vertically between the radio and floor. Removing the lower dash panels makes access pretty easy. There are places for 3 relays. AFAIK, the far left is for factory fog lights, middle is for horn, right is fuel pump relay.I swapped out the horn and fuel pump relay, and now everything works great.

Did you check the glove box? If its not there check by the master cylinder. If it starts and runs with fuel down the TBI, then you have a problem with your fuel pump not supplying enough pressure to start the engine. A minimum of 50 psi is required for the injectors to work.http://www.autozone.com/autozone/re…epairGuideContent.jsp?pageId=0996b43f8025eccb

Sounds like the poppet fuel injectors if it”s a “CPI”,.They”re underneath the plenum and are a set of injectors with the pressure regulator.
