About this deal

Toolden Limited trading as Toolden is a credit broker, not a lender and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 654671 ). The length of time the battery will last before needing to be recharged will very much depend on the capacity of the battery and the load of the work you are doing. Some of our partners may process your data as a part of their legitimate business interest without asking for consent.

By pushing the trigger, the three-stage battery fuel gauge allows you to see how much battery power is still available. It's light, fast, fairly powerful, it'll drive a 1" self feed auger bit through softwood quite easily on speed one anyway.XPT is a protective seal inside the tool engineered to provide improved water resistance by channelling water and dust from the tool’s key internal components. This drill is slightly larger than many other cordless drills, but it is a solid and powerful drill and as such can be a bit heavy or a bit powerful for some beginners, but for anyone else this is a great addition to the toolbox. The Makita DHP458Z themselves will often be sold ‘naked’ or 'body only', which means that the battery and charger are not included. Product dimensions are stated with a battery / batteries, if they affect the overall dimensions of the product.

The Makita DHP458Z has a brushed motor and a 2 speed metal gearbox selectable via a slide switch on the top of the drill. The power remaining in the battery can be indicated in 3 stages simply by pushing a button; 3 lights on: more than 50% of full battery capacity. Not all cordless drills are created equal and there are many different models even within one manufacturers range. If youre after something cheap, brushless, extremely light and powerful as well as compact this is a good option.

Yup the 458 drains batteries rather fast, Don't think I can even mix 3batches of plaster when 4ah battery is already drained, but other than that I have had no complains.

I watched a video where they compared the latest brushless drills from all makes ,and sadly the makita wasn't really on top.The Makita DHP485 18v LXT Brushless 2-Speed Combi Drill delivers outstanding performance without the bulkiness and weight of the typical cordless tool. well-balanced, lightweight design with the smallest overall length in its class makes it easy to handle without sacrificing power, and the best ergonomic, soft rubber grip handle offers maximum user comfort while reducing fatigue from prolonged use and enhancing tool control. With significantly more power, more drilling capabilities, increased robustness and added extras such as a depth stop and side handle, the DHP458Z is an all round winner if you're looking for the perfect combi to add to your collection. The LXT Compact continues to refine the formula of faster-charging batteries with leading power-to-weight ratio's.

Thinking whatever to get the dhp481 or try to stretch out my dying 458 a little bit more in hopes makita releases something new very soon. It featuresa variable speed trigger for greater control along with a twin LED job light with pre-glow for use in low visibility applications. High Power Output – This model has been redesigned with a newly designed motor and gear ratio achieving not only more power but also increasing the performance in continuous heavy-duty applications. The Makita DHP458 replaces the BHP458 and is compatible with all Makita 18v slide-on li-ion batteries. The drill also has a metal clip on the bottom, so you can hang it on your belt or work trousers pocket.

Protection from dust and dripping water is improved compared to the current model, making it suitable for use in outdoor applications or hard conditions.
