About this deal

Jitendra has been working in the Internet Industry for the last 7 years now and has written about a wide range of topics including gadgets, smartphones, reviews, games, software, apps, deep tech, AI, and consumer electronics. There's also minimal water resistance, with a mere IPX2 rating meaning you don't want it anywhere near water if you can help it.

The Moto G31 has a triple-camera module with the primary sensor being a 50MP snapper coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter which also works as a depth sensor and a 2MP sensor for macro photography. A punch-hole at the top of the screen offers up the selfie camera lens, but it truly takes up the bare minimum of space - it's literally just the lens. The multi-core score was slightly better sounding at 1,311, but could still only beat the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. It could be a little brighter in bright sunlight, but other than that, it's all pretty sharp and exactly what you'd like from this kind of phone. The device's rear panel has eccentric lines that not only help offer extra grip but also look visually appealing when it reflects light.Tech Advisor's Reviews Editor, Chris has been reviewing all kinds of tech for over 10 years and specialises in audio. In terms of battery, the Moto G31 has a 5,000 mAh battery pack which has lasted us over a day easily. If you're considering spending a little bit more money and exploring the mid-range smartphone market, the main improvements you'll see over the Moto G31 will be the increased snappiness of moving between multiple apps, and the better quality of the photos and videos that you take (especially in low light). inch AMOLED display looks bright and vibrant most of the time, even if it misses out on having a refresh rate any higher than 60Hz. Lack of 5G and wireless charging, along with subpar performance, means this isn't a phone for future proofing, but for a cheap purchase right now, you could do a lot worse.

A more expensive phone will have a more premium feel, and you'll also get access to extras that the Moto G31 doesn't offer, such as waterproofing, 5G and wireless charging.

It's definitely one of the better screens down at the budget end of the market, and so if video watching and photo viewing are your priorities, then this might have you leaning towards this particular handset. Working well as a point and shoot camera, the Moto G31 might lack the finer details and refinements, but it offers some easy-to-use software features that mean this is ideal for the average snapper. All that is for naught if the phone doesn’t perform to a satisfactory standard, and Motorola has taken the unusual step of ditching Qualcomm in favour of MediaTek’s Helios G85 SoC. The Moto G31 has a battery of 5,000mAh, which means it lasts a good couple of days without too much trouble, unless you're using it a lot.
