About this deal

Informative and inspiring, the myriad activities in this book challenge the reader to discover something new and explore their imagination to draw, decorate and design every pull-out page.

This beautiful large-format poster book lets you put the world on your wall with the gorgeous images from Big Picture Press s bestselling Maps. Bursting with fascinating facts and puzzles from around the world, it offers hours of entertainment to young adventurers. The illustrations are fantastic and there is so much to see on each page, I especially like that every item is properly named whether it be a fish, fruit, tree or flower. The book of 52 brilliantly illustrated maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly meticulous drawings from Polish duo Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski. I like the way that the European section travels southwards from Iceland, which means that countries such as Croatia and Romania are given equal space alongside the perhaps more familiar France and Spain. While we have a lot of books in our house, we realised recently that we didn't have a lot of reference books. I bought this book for my husband, he loves maps and has travelled extensively, I know that he will love it and he will also enjoy showing it to our grandchildren.

This book of maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly drawn illustrations from the incomparable Mizielinskis. The continent maps are more basic than the country maps, but still include facts like the number of countries, the area and sealife. With so much to see this book would make a lovely Christmas gift and will certainly keep everyone entertained after Christmas lunch!

Ideal for children from three onwards it isn't just a map book it is an introduction to the world and the illustrations could start many stories. I bought it for one of my grand-families, and so loved the look and feel of it that my husband bought ME one for Christmas! The country pages are very detailed and all include the flag, capital city, the languages spoken, population, and area as well as a host of other illustrations about the country including the wildlife, food, buildings, famous people and many more. As someone else mentioned it it a bit cluttered, however one of the biggest disappointments for me was Ireland barely being referenced. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

With each page turned, you'll be learning fascinating facts associated with each region of the world.

The tagline on this gorgeous book promises you can 'Travel the globe without leaving your living room' and, for the armchair traveller this surely is the most fun way of doing so. The countries are illustrated with animals - both current and prehistoric - which makes retention of facts so much easier.
